Here is how to set up TSplus Remote Access to work with Active Directory credentials. In the instructions below, we use the example domain MICASA; please replace this with your domain name.
Prerequisites
- The Windows computer on which TSPlus is installed must be a member of the Active Directory domain and can reach the domain controller. If you have a farm, all TSplus Remote Access servers must be members of the Active Directory domain.
- To configure these settings, administrators must be logged on to the TSplus Remote Access server(s) using a domain account that is a member of the local Administrators group.
Configuration
- Obtain the NETBIOS domain name—The NETBIOS domain name we refer to is the domain listed under "user logon name (pre-Windows 2000)" in the Active Directory user's Account tab in the user properties (see Screenshot 1—the example domain is "MICASA"). Please note that .local is not used.
- In the AdminTool > Applications screen, please assign your Active Directory users or groups to the required application(s) on your TSplus Remote Access application servers.
- Go to AdminTool > Web > Web Portal Customization > Credentials, enter the NETBIOS domain name in the "default value" field just under the Domain section, and click the save button at the top right. Please take a look at screenshot 2 for reference. You can show the domain field on the web portal login screen by selecting that option if you'd like.
- If generating a .connect file, please enter the domain in the NETBIOS format in the domain name field.
Please note that when users enter their username in the Connection Client or the web portal, we expect to see only their username without a domain name being added to the front or rear of the username.
